Regulation 2(1) of Commercial Agents (Council Directive) Regulations 1993 sets out the definition of a commercial agent as:
I, as agent, am independent of the principal

I doesn’t necessarily have to negotiate on behalf of the principal (e.g. In terms of pricing) in order to be considered an agent for the purpose of the Regulations and the interpretation of the word “negotiate” is generally widely construed in the my favour
